We’ve transferred a small number of policies, which were provided by Phoenix Life Limited and branded Standard Life, to a company in Aberdeen Group called abrdn Life and Pensions Limited. You can find out more detail about the transfer on the Standard Life website.
A guide with more information about the transfer has also been created for policyholders with a Phoenix or SunLife branded policy.
The High Court of Ireland approved the transfer of policies from Phoenix Life Assurance Europe dac to Standard Life International dac, another company in Phoenix Group. The hearing took place on 12 November 2024.
The policy transfer took place on 1 January 2025 for customers with Phoenix Life branded Irish, German and Icelandic policies as well as ReAssure branded Swedish, Norwegian and German policies.

On 1 January 2023, we transferred all of the Irish, German and Icelandic business in Phoenix Life Limited, to Phoenix Life Assurance Europe dac.

On 8 December 2017, we transferred all the policies of AXA Wealth Limited to Phoenix Life Limited.
2017 AWL policy transfer
On 30 June 2015, we transferred all the policies of National Provident Life Limited to Phoenix Life Assurance Limited.
2015 NPLL policy transfer
On 30 September 2013, certain pension annuities transferred from Phoenix Life Limited to another UK life insurance company, Guardian Assurance Limited.
2013 annuity transfer
On 31 March 2012, we transferred all NPIL policies and certain NPLL policies to Phoenix Life Limited. The NPIL policies that transferred included former Pearl Assurance (Unit Linked Pensions) Limited, Pearl Assurance (Unit Funds) Limited and London Life Linked Assurances Limited policies that were moved to NPIL in October 2006.

In February 2011, we transferred all PALAL policies to Phoenix Life Limited.
2011 fund transfer
We transferred certain protection products from Scottish Mutual Assurance Limited and Scottish Provident Limited to Royal London in December 2008. For information on these products, visit www.scotprov.co.uk. We transferred the rest of the business of these companies to Phoenix Life Limited In February 2009.
In December 2006, we transferred the life assurance business of six companies into Phoenix Life Limited. The companies were Alba Life Limited, Britannic Assurance plc, Britannic Retirement Solutions Limited, Britannic Unit Linked Assurance Limited, Century Life plc and Phoenix Life & Pensions Limited.
